Rams surge to third straight win, beat CCSF 13-5

SAN FRANCISCO — The Gavilan College Rams scored early and pulled away late to defeat City College of San Francisco 13-5, in a non-conference baseball game on Tuesday played at San Francisco State University.

Gavilan finished with 14 hits and used a five-run, third-inning to regain momentum after CCSF briefly took the lead in the second. The Rams added five more runs in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach.

Jacob Gilbreath led the Gavilan offense, driving in five runs. Orlando Lewis collected three hits and scored twice, while Agustin Gomez and Devin Aragon each contributed run-scoring hits as part of a balanced lineup.

Gavilan jumped out to a 2–0 lead in the first inning, but City College of San Francisco answered with four runs in the second to move ahead. The lead was short-lived, as Gavilan responded immediately with five runs in the third inning, highlighted by timely hitting and productive outs.

CCSF was held to five runs on nine hits, with Gavilan's pitching staff settling in after the early innings and limiting scoring opportunities the rest of the way. Eric Richard earned the win after tossing four innings of scoreless relief.

The Rams won their third straight game to even up their overall record at 3-3. Gavilan returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 4) when it hosts Modesto Junior College in a non-conference game.
