Rams have five named All-Coast Conference South Division
Following the close of the regular season, five members of the Gavilan College baseball team were honored with All-Coast Conference South Division postseason accolades.
Jacob Gilbreath was a first-team all-conference selection while Wyatt Barton took home second-team honors. Rounding out the Rams' award winners were Ricky Wilkerson, Mateo Alcantar, and Brayden Martinez all being named honorable mention.
Gilbreath, a sophomore outfielder out of Santa Teresa High School, put up solid numbers across the board for the Rams. Over 38 games, he led Gavilan with a .365 batting average, 57 hits, 30 runs, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, and 46 RBI.
Barton, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Hollister High School, made a team-high 15 starts on the mound and led the Rams with a 5-3 record, 83.1 innings, 53 strikeouts, and a 4.86 earned run average.
Wilkerson, a sophomore infielder out of Christopher High School, hit .298 on the season (34 for 114) with 9 doubles, 4 home runs, 15 walks, and 27 RBI.
Alcantar, another sophomore originally from Christopher High School, put up a .312 batting average (39 for 125) with 8 doubles, 22 walks, 27 runs, 21 RBI, and 10 stolen bases.
Martinez, a sophomore right-handed pitcher out of Gilroy High School, led Gavilan with 21 pitching appearances. He struck out 50 batters over 66.2 innings and compiled a 2-7 record with a team-leading 3 saves.
The Rams wrapped up the 2026 regular season with a 14-25 overall record and finished fifth in the highly-competitive Coast Conference South Division at 6-14.
